Done!

Scariest thing ever! Did I mention I'm a big wimp?

Went pretty quickly. Brought us back. Checked my eyes again. Gave me Valium. Waited. Gave me more Valium. The sweetest assistant talked me down a bit. And then I told them I was ready.

They took me back, gave me a big Mickey Mouse to squeeze and covered me with blankets.

David got to watch the whole thing through the window and on a screen. Good thing I got this done first cuz I would never have gone if I'd seen all he saw!

It was done really quickly, like probably six minutes. The sweet nurses helped me stand up, walked me to the corner of the room and asked me to tell them the time. Voila! I could see the clock!!!

The drive home not so fun as my eyes burned like crazy and being the neurotic that I am, could only assume the worst. But David confirmed with them that that is totally normal. I went to bed and tried to sleep. Now, I feel pretty good and lookin fine in my safety goggles (totally necessary in my house!).

And, I can see the tv from my bed with no glasses! Amazing!

Big Thank you to my mom and stepdad for coming down at the CRACK of dawn to get Junie to school, pick her up and help out with the kids!

Please excuse any mistakes-valium still in my system! :)

LASIK!

Waiting... And FREAKING out!

Youth Sunday

Once a year the youth group is in charge of the entire service at church. It is the best - so fun and full of life. This year Michael and Jack were able to participate. Michael plays guitar in the band and Jack sang with the group. Unfortunately, Jack was in the back row so I couldn't see him but did get some pics of him after. Michael also did something he is very good at- asking for money (offering!). So proud of my boys!

                                                Michael rockin' his new guitar.
Doin' what he's so very good at- asking for money!

                                                        Jack - love that smile!

Oh, my heart.

Conversation with Junie yesterday:

Me (folding laundry in family room. Junie getting up from table before her pudding is gone and coming in my direction):  Don't get up from the table Junie or your snack time is going to be over.

Junie:  I just want to give you a hug and a kiss, Mommy.

Me (not ever turning that down):  OK, come here.

Me (hugging her):  I prayed for you everyday.

Junie:  Why?

Me:  Because I loved you before I even knew you.

Junie:  I missed'ed you in China, Mommy.

Me:  I missed you too, Junie.

Compliment???

Conversation with Michael at lunch:

Michael:  Mommy, you should chaperone "Great Escape" (the summer camp he's been to twice, this will be his 3rd and last year) this year.

Me (more than a little surprised and immediately so flattered and happy):  Really, Buddy?  Why?  You've never wanted me to chaperone before.

Michael:  I know.  I'm not embarrassed of you anymore.

Best picture of me EVER

If I do say so myself!

By Junie.

Oh, the circle under my head... I thought, "wow, a necklace?  what detail!".  So, I asked her what that is... perhaps I shouldn't have.  It's my CHIN.  Diet starts tomorrow!  (although my body looks quite slim!)  :)

A-OK

Michael's shoulder is fine. The dr said it may have gotten dislocated and then popped right back in (this all happened on the trampoline, of course!) hence the popping sound as he moved it around. Yikes!

A few pictures from Junie's POV while we waited:

2013 Starting out with a Bang (or, in this case, a POP)

Of Michael's shoulder, that is. Waiting for x-ray. Fun times.
